Default Headers mid or long lt1

I had long tubes in one of my camaro's that wa lowered and they scraped on inclines do long tubes scraped ever with stock suspension in like a 1995 camaro?

Would you do long tubes or mid? I have a 383 with a lt4 hot cam heads and intake would mids flow enough? Even with a 150 shot?

LOL Let the flames wars begin.

You soon get the "LT'S F T W BITCHEZZZZ!!! crowd in here"

The truth is you should match your headers to your setup.

I like AS&M headers for a street car. For a more top-end / race setup LT's would probably make a few more hp.

Just curious as to why you prefer mids for a street car?

mids have better ground clearance and if you go with a higher quality mid you'll get the primary diameter of your average lt and the ground clearance of a midlength

kinda best of both worlds

i like my mac mids alot. real good ground clearance. real easy install. and a def performance increase. good mid range. when i do new heads ill also be doing LPP's new LT's to get alittle more out of it.

I went with the kyb agx 8-way adjustable shocks on stock springs. The shocks dropped the car 3/4" which gives the car a bit of a lowered stance, but still maintains good ground clearance. Matter of fact kyb does not reccomend running lowering springs with these shocks. I kind of looked at it as a best of both worlds solution. My Lt's have never scraped anything or come close on this setup.

Definitive proof LT's are better than Mid-tubes
Red = previous setup with AS&M mid-tube headers & 30# injectors
Blue = current setp with LPP long tube headers & 37# injectors

Only difference in the above setups were headers. Mid-tubes work nearly as well as LT's at high RPMS but just plain suck in the torque department down low. I was blown away by how much more low end grunt I had when going to LT's. My LT's have NEVER scraped at stock worn spring height.

I've used all 3, shorties, mids, and LT. LT are the best. I never had ground clerance issues since the car was never lowered and it was a 383 LT1. I didnt mind shorties because they are an easier install until you get the Y pipe portion.

I hated Mids since they didnt increase ease of working in the engine bay, and the collector is in a crappy place. the only Mid I know of that has a 1-3/4" primary was Arizona Speed and Marine Mids which horrible fitment issues and bolt access.

I did fine with Jet Hot LT headers.
