LT-1...Internal balance, or external?
I'm going to pull my tranny in the near future, to replace what appears to be a leaking rear main seal. I was thinking that while I had it apart, I'd put in a TCI heavy duty flex plate...just in case.
Well they have two different part numbers, one listed for an "externally balanced" engine, and the other for an "internally balanced" engine.
I hate to admit ignorance, but I have no idea which one a late LT-1 engine is. I remember the special balancers and flexplates for the old 400 small blocks, as well as the special pieces for the 70s 454 big blocks. But I'm unsure about the '96 LT-1 I have, and want to have all the parts on hand before I pull the car apart.
Anybody know for sure?
Thanks!

Externally balanced in the rear and neutrally balanced in the front, so you will need a flexplate that you can put a weight on to balance it out.
btw it's LT1, not LT-1 that would be the older engine from the early 70's
