Exclamation Disappointed after modifications!

Ok i've just finished modifying my car but im really disappointed from the result.
Here are the mods:
stock block, ported heads & intake, bigger valves, LE3 cam (24x/24x 60x/60x lsa is 10x), 1.6 RR, Moroso CAI, 58mm TB, Hooker shorties w/ 3inch custom exhaust,HSW Nitrous kit.
the car is an M6 w 3:73 gears.
The car made only 335hp/316tq w/out nos.
what could be the problem? the compression is fine & the car drives great with no issues.
could it be the shorties? any help is really appreciated.

who ported the heads?

and i wouldn't think the Shorties would hamper you that much, althought switching to long tubes on a setup like you've got listed i bet would be good for about another 15rwhp maybe 20 at most.

try longtubes...you really need to open the exhaust up and let it breathe, otherwise that engine is being choked..

yeah and like everyone else, did you get it tuned?

also, did you spin the cam out to the top? if you shift below the top of the power curve, youll never make the big numbers.

The Heads have been done at a local shop & I've dyno tuned the car.I spin the cam up to 6500.

well the biggest cam grind on elliott's site recommends you spin it to 6600, and if its a bigger custom grind you gotta spin it out higher, maybe 6700+ to make peak power.

236/240 .592/.592 112 LSA - 2400-6600 RPM
Very choppy idle. Good mid range and great top end power. We suggest a "built" bottom end
is to handle this RPM. Minimum 3000 stall and 3.73 gears for F and Y body. More gear and
stall will be even better. Comparable to GM 847 or Comp 468 XFI cam.
did the shop give you a flow sheet?

but still he should be in the 370rwhp range at 6500rpms then maybe closer to 400rwhp at 6800 or even 7000rpms with a cam that large. If the heads were ported decently. He is M6 after all.

Also i noticed no one ever asked but what kinda dyno was it?

Maybe the dyno was reading severly low, take it to the track and get some track numbers, the dyno is only for tunning really, cause if you pull some crazy trap speed over 120 i'd say that dyno was just a low baller.

yeah forgot to say dyno is worthless go to the track for real numbers! and yeah he should be making closer to 400 but (and i hope i'm wrong) but seems like those heads don't flow that good

A cam that size probably needs to go beyond the pcm's capability in such a small engine.

The heads are a complete unknown.

The Hookers are not great, if the exhaust is single 3" that is not very good.

3.73s wont hurt the HP number but are a bad match to the M6 and a big cam.

There is no plan here, just collection of parts.

That said I have seen chassis dynos spit out some retardedly low numbers for cars that performed very well so take it too the track and see if the performance is in line with the dyno numbers.
