i am installing a hurst billet shifter and i want to remove the lower console so i have more room but how do i remove the ebrake handle?

If you look in there you'll see how the E-brake uses a gear to work. You have to use a screw driver down there to pull the gears away from one another, then the handle can stick straight up and the console will come off.

I personally wouldn't do the above, not saying anything is wrong.

all you really have to do is yank the handle as far as you can to get it straight up. When removing the console, just lift the back of it up and move it around and pull up at the same time slowly. Not tricky, but take your time so nothing has the chance to break.

ya i didnt want to do the above either, no offense. i did yank it up as far as the ebrake would go but mine is very tight. i will try it again i guess. can the handle just come off?

To be honest, I'm not sure. I assume so, possibly a staple set-up similar to stock automatic shifters?
