Default 3 inch cat.

I am finishing my Wrangler LS1/4l60e swap.

I need some informed opinions on the exhaust.

The LS1 has 243 heads, rebuilt with Mahle pistons, 10.5 cr, LS6 cam, Comp Cams 1:85 rockers and BBK intake. I'm guessing about 400-425 flywheel hp.

The headers are Hooker 1 5/8" block huggers into 2 1/2" pipes to a FlowMaster 2:1 3 inch outlet merge to a Magna Flow 3 inch cat into a 3 inch 50 series Delta flow FlowMaster muffler to a 3 inch tail pipe.

My question is will the 3 inch cat kill the flow? It's their 3 inch round high flow cat? I don't have room for dual cats.

Any ideas?

Default

Is the Magnaflow cat you bought one of the spun models? If so, is it a ceramic substrate or metalic substrate?

It might not hurt to call Magnaflow. I have called them before and they were very helpful in giving me details about their products. I tried emailing them and never got a response.

Default 3" cat

It's a spun type. I did speak to Magna Flow and they said it's the highest flow but not confirming if it will support 400 hp.
