What is it Worth? - Whats a 96 z28 worth?

I found a 1996 camaro z28....the hood is missing also the driverside door glass....the guy claims he had new head gaskets put on it because it was steaming out the tail pipe... heres what he said happen someone broke out the driverside window poped the hood to steal the ss hood.....the body looks great other then that inside and out...he had his boy put the engine back in the car after the one guy put the head gaskets back on.... he says the car will not start..ive not got to hear it yet could it be out of time???? and they are a few hoses off.... he is asking a 1000 for the car he said he wont sell it to me untill i drive it....he wont budge a dollar on it but saidif i get it running he will knock off 100 which will make it 900...what do u guys think it has over hundred thousand miles

I think it sounds like a bad idea personally, I mean $1k isnt bad for the car but telling you you have to fix it before he sells is like he has something nobody else has is just stupid. Door glass can be had from a local junkyard as can a stock hood. Say $130 and you have a hood and glass, depends on parts prices in your area.

Id tell the guy to sell it if he wants to sell it or stop wasting your time.

Also keep in mind if you fix it and get it running then he decides to keep it, you have nothing but wasted time.
