2000 Dodge Durango
I have searched and have not had any luck as of yet. Does anyone know if the LS1 swap has been done into the Gen 1 (98-03) Durangos??? Or where I might be able to find the info on doing this if it has been done???
I have nothing but time on my hands right now over here in Iraq, so I have been doing some brainstorming on future projects. The idea of a blown LS1 into the Durango was an idea that was actually thrown at me by my wife.
Thanks

I have looked everywhere I can think of and am about to post on the Dakota-Durango Forum that I am on to see if they have heard of anyone doing it. I have the 5.9L but it has like 160k miles or so on it. If I am going to put a blower on it, it will need a rebuild anyways so I figured since my wife gave me the idea and we both miss our LS1's this would be the route to go on it!!!!
If you guys come across anything please let me know!!!

Bumping because Im also interested in an LSX swap in a gen 1 Durango. I've been thinking of doing the 5.7 "Hemi" swap because of the 100hp gain over the 5.9 and the pinch of extra gas mileage. I'd rather throw a 6.0L lsx in it. I want at least some Chevy in my new project. Love the look of the gen 1 Durangos, love the 4x4 ability of it, which would be a complication I would need to figure out. I love how the NV242HD works. I figure this would be a better place to gather opinions and info than the D forums.
I would like to use a 01-03 D, as I like the interior better and want the rear heat AND ac.

I've kicked around the idea. Also the hemi swap. I reccomend the LS1 swap. I have my 2002 Durango (and I'm on dak-dur also) and it's leaking oil all of a sudden fairly bad (I'm going to update my f.s. add, no worries) and I considered a 6.0 going in. HMMM.... Maybe so.
