What should I do? Its leaking out air, and I thought I could take it to a machine shop to see if they could pound it back. Any suggestions?

damn that sucks. I got two rims on the same side that's the same way. TTM's. They aren't as bad as that but they are bent a little. When I talked to the guy that does rims around here he said it'd be about a hundred for both rims. I also curbed the driver back rim coming around the sonic drive thru! :bang: I'm looking at 300 dollar's to fix my stupid mistakes.
EDIT: just reread you said it's leaking air. You might wanna hurry and get it fixed. Go to a dealership and ask them for the number for the guy that fixes the rims there. All dealerships usually have his number and he comes there on a day to day basis. I would have definitely got mine fixed as quick as possible if it was leaking air.

That shouldn't be an issue. You can't do it yourself, but search for wheel or rim repair in your area. I know I've got a local guy, check your area as well. Might have to ship it out.

most citys will pay for the damage, just have to tell them where you hit the pothole, at what time and on what date. They will usually pay for the damaged parts/rim.

I think its $50.00 to fix something like that. You'll never know it happened.

In this area, there is a guy that has a truck and he has wheel repair equipment in his truck. Drives out to where you are.
Might be good to see if something similar in your area.

x2 on that. Its the city's responsibility to fix these potholes. Give them a call first and see what they say!

good luck on getting the city or county to pay for it. I can tell you how I got mine paid for, but I had another set of rims that I could wait. I tried to get a rim fixed/tire replaced and they said there was no previous reports of the pothole I hit (law states you have to give sufficient amount of time for them to repair the pothole.) So since the lady never asked for my name, I had a friend call and report the huge pothole that's in my alley that has been there for months. I waited 3 days and called in my damage, and she told me the same thing that no one had reported it. I stated the I knew for a fact that someone had called it in already, and guess what, my rim and tire were replaced. :D

I had a wheel like that loose the lip after it was fixed. Damn near totaled out my 89 camaro when it went. 70mph and I saw the lip fly passed the window and before I could think WTH "BAM" went the tire. Give it a good inspection and often after you get it fixed.

Called around columbus, ohio and most everyone wants about 200 to fix...which is just as much as buying another wheel

whiteformula98 you need to get in touch with walmart where this happened. whiteformula98 told me thru pm it happened in a walmart parking lot. as i told him walmart is just as responsible by law as the transportation is responsible for their roads/parking lots.

Get a new rim. Metal fatigues once you bend it multiple times. Dont believe me? Grab a paperclip and bend it back and forth a few times and see what happens. You don't want your rim to break apart like what happened to the fellow a few posts up. Your rim will never be the same again if you or anybody else attempts to fix it. Try and get Wal Mart to pay for it, but thats gonna be tough. A pothole in my neighborhood shopping center caused one of my tires to blow out a sidewall, and I just said to hell with it and bought it myself because I didnt feel like fighting.

why should the people pay for other people's laziness and responsibilities. i got tired of getting screwed so i just dont anymore. i handle what i have to handle. i got tired of a local fast food restaurant messing up my order everytime i went there i finally asked for the manager and corporate number and i had some stuff dealt with at that place. bet they wont screw my order up anymore!!! lets put it this was if we cant get it our way, than they need to change their freakin slogan!!!!
