Default Speed Inc cadillac cam vs. lloyd elliot sleeper cam

Hello guys,
Does anybody know the difference between both these companies’ cams that are "sleeper cams?" I have heard both great feedback on each others cam. Wanted to know from people who have them in there car, and how much power it gave you. These are very good companies so I'am not starting a fight. Just want to hear some good info. Try to make my decision on which one to go with. Thanks Calvin

P.S. anybody have any video clips with these cams and dyno sheets?

You already have headers, exhaust, and ram air...why do you want a sleeper cam I'd think bigger.

There are many cams you can run effectively on stock heads, I am running the CC503 w/ stock heads for example. You will want to change your stall though, 2000 is very small, even for a bolt-on car. Get a 3200+ stall and get a decent sized cam. Then save up for gears.

i almost bought that cam but its way out of my budget for doing it right. such as stall, tranny cooler, gears, shift kit, valve train parts and so on.

What's your budget?
You'd have to upgrade your valve train with any cam you choose...

A larger stall and 3.73 gears alone will make your car a different car, without going into the internals.

So what's your budget now? You should install yourself, saves a bunch.

Well LT4 springs are only good enough for 1.6 rr's and the stock cam. Anything larger and you need better springs.

Stock springs cannot be used with anything other than the stock cam. They are not strong enough and will go into coil bind. You could have serious issues result from that. The LT4 springs you have will more than likely have to be replaced to run either of those camshafts but your best bet would be to talk to Lloyd or Larry because they would be able to tell you for sure since I am unaware of there lobe designs etc. Keep in mind the LT4's probaly can't even handle the lift of either with 1.6RR's so you would have to downsize to 1.5's which would kind of contradict everything.

My vote is to up the stall and gears in time because you will see more noticible gains by doing that than putting in a small cam with the setup you currently have.

notice that was installed with comp springs NOT stock or lt4! Which is what everyones point is here. Thats why guys are saying to go with a bigger cam. you are going to have to upgrade the SPRINGS anyways lol.

From thread you linked...

"...I also installed Comp 1.6 rockers and comp springs/retainers."

Trust me, you can't run stock valve train...

There is another coil, "I guess you could call it" inside of the spring.
