There are several good brands out there, Hayden and B&M being two of them. The plate types are supposed to be more efficient than the tube types. With your demands, you may want one with a built-in fan. You may also want a thermostat. An example is the B&M 70298, which has both, but needs an installation kit.
The install is not difficult at all, and it is generally recommended that you take the factory radiator out of the loop.
I use the 70264, and my temps are always below 200, even when I run it hard.

i have it mounted under the car at a slight angle to catch air, running a 4l80e and 10" converter, doesnt see much more than 160-170 degs

Google Long- Tru Cool Oil Coolers, a 36 pass cooler is only $60. Superb quality.Using one of these coolers dropped my engine oil temp on my 408 from 275* to ~200*.

Default B&m

The BEST you can get is the B&M coolers from Summit (IMO) and if running Dope style the B&M Part # BMM-70264 (11"BY 6") ARE THE BIGGEST YOU CAN FIT UP IN THE FRONT CORNERSI ran 2 of em which i know wasc overkill ,but looks basd *** LOL The coolers are 59.99 each My ***** at 160 all day long in the summer with no fans and running hard too!

Derale Atomic Cool

Derale deep cooling tube pan

LOL @ B&M being the best possible. It would be fine with your 2,800. But if OP ever steps up to a 4,000+ click the above links and call it a day.

i've got a B&M supercooler attatched in front of my radiator. it's all connected together. works great for me, i've got a Vig3600 and it's been in for over 6 years now. haven't raced since '04 so i only daily drive but it had its fair share of hot lapping back before.
