Default 3rd gen SC GTA vs H/C LT1?

We are trying to line up a race between a 89 GTA with a Procharged intercooled supercharger and a LT1 355 with heads, cam, MT, 9"(That I know of, probably lots more).
Going to be close? What do you think?
One seems more keen to race than the other...

Need more info.
How much boost?
Also heads/cam...that could mean anything.

i'm gunna take a stab in the dark here since we are missing quiet a few details that are important. but i'll guess the 355 LT1 wins, he is the one pushing for the race isnt he?

and is the SC GTA a stock 5.7L or bolt-on's and SC or what?

The GTA is minimal mods from what I can see. Makes nice smokie burnouts, but I don't think he's getting his power to the ground.

Should be good to watch....

Then yea my guess will stand, the 355 LT1 is making a good amount of power im guessing with H/C/I and has some good sticky tires and is lookin to pull a trick on this SC GTA. the older 5.7L's have good torque, but are lacking in the HP department stock, so say he added the blower, he is still only gunna be even a 100hp at most more. Those GTA's are rated at 210hp stock, so say with a decent amount of boost and a couple bolt-on's he is running 350 now thats 140 more HP, which is alot more than im guessing he is pushing. The LT1 depending on what trim level was 275-285-or 305 IIRC, add heads and cam and full bolt-ons that car can be near 450 crank HP.

Unless the GTA has some tricks up his sleeve im gunna guess the LT1 was a well though out build and has this one in the bag.

Also just re-read the thread dude has a built rear end in the LT1 with MT's, if its from a dig i'd be willing to bet some money on the LT1 haha.

Try and get a vid for us man!

I'm glad you at least gave the 3rd gen credit for the torque...but I still think too much credit is always given to HP numbers. Now don't get me wrong, usually with HP comes torque when doing these typical set-ups...but I love when something makes great HP and gets stomped because there wasn't enough torque to utilize until high in the rpm band (bikes, some imports, etc.) I always liked the saying we have in racing of "horsepower sells cars, torque wins races." This all being said, my money is on the LT1 :-p

I'd say H/C/I LT1 but all depends on how GTA is setup..

Whats the point of power if you can't get it to the ground?

Probably why I beat my buddy with a 95 fully built 302 mustang gt with a Kenne Belle supercharger in the 1/8th track.. couldnt hook
