Default anybody street drive there race EWP?

I need to get a EWP and would like to get the race version but i do drive it on the street to local cruise nights and around town for cruises from time to time. Anyone do this with there race pump, any problem with running no thermostate?

hey Jerry, whats up, yes peeps actually do drive there cars with the ewp, many peeps have good results to with no problems at all and there are even some peeps who no longer run there electric fans either..cuz it cools so well..but many are scarred due to the fact that it can go out at anytime for instance the relay or even just a bad ewp....
same with the t-stat to they dont run that either (some do, some dont)

I ran mine on the street, 35 gpm unit, no tstat and the car stays right at 190 like it always has on the factory gauge.

No problems at all. Stock radiator with stock fans, that are set to turn on @ 190 and off at 160

that sounds awsome. The "race" EWP are a lot cheaper then the street version also so thats a bonus. Its not like its my DD nor do i take it on road trips, just local street cruising so looks like thats the one im gonna buy. Thanks guys!

Not on my Formula, but my Nova has had a CSR EWP since 2003 and it sees a few thousand street miles a year without a problem.

i think some people may have a misconception on what EWP I'm talking about. I'M referring to the "race" version Maziere makes, not there "street" version with the thermostat.

Iv had a EWP on my lt1 and had thousands of street miles and small road trips and it was perfect, but i didn't know about the actual "race" one with no thermostat.

Not to mention the race one is a lot cheaper!!

Just be aware that you will have to also buy an adjustable alternator bracket and ditch the power steering pump.

i know my car and yours are nothing alike- but my fans come on at 160 (i believe), 160 stat, fiberglass hood with now insulation, and i havent seen anything higher than 165 unless the AC is on or im beating on it on a hot day, and even then it only hits 180
