Default Did I do that???? Weak 1-2 shift...

OK so I will say this is a bonehead story, but I want some real feedback. I was getting at a new maserati when I did the ol' 3-2 at 5500... The Lo trac light came on and it was shifting really sloppy. I am wondering what happened because now my 1-2 it sounds like my clutch is slipping, but it will get loose if I hit it from a dig which leads me to believe it isn't this. Anyone with any input it is greatly appreciated.

OK. So a small amount more investigating and I figured out the shift is real strong when it is not at operating temperature. When it is warmed up is when it slips. Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Does it slip if you're in the higher gears (5, 6) and go WOT. The clutch may have just glazed, and needs to wear back to friction, or you may have worn it down to the point where it's slipping under load.. The worn clutch will tend to show up more in the higher gear ratios, because of the increased TQ on the input shaft to spin those over-drive ratios.

So possibly still a clutch? I will check and let you know. Thanks for the response.

well it seems as if nothing slips except 1-2. 2-3 is strong as is 3-4. doesn't slip in 5 or 6.

It fixed itself. Now it shifts no problem.
