Default Yella Terra's and sounds....

Ok after installing the yella terras (because I snapped 2 factory rockers in half), I know have a slight knocking sound. Doesn't sound like a rod or anything but I have removed the rockers 3 times and didn't see anything wrong. Anyone ever install them? Did you have to clearance the heads or valvecovers anywhere? Thanx...

Is your WS6 a 98? You have to clearance the valve covers on a 98 but 99+ should go right on.

What would a bent pushrod sound like? The pushrods are new TSP 7.4's, I did snap 2 factory rockers in half right before I put the yella terras on, don't think that could have bent a pushrod but i'll check them.

If you had snapped a rocker than you most likely have bent some pushrods. Trying to lash the rockers correctly does not mean with or without the shims it may not be right either way. You have to go through the correct procedure.

i did go through the correct procedures, with the shims put me right at the verge of being out of specs so i tried them and then ended up taking them off. I just checked the two pushrods from the rockers that broke and they are fine. Any other idea's?

Something is wrong if you are snapping rocker arms. Did you ever modify those rocker arms? What were you doing when they broke? That isnt normal.

As far as the knocking sound, I had the same thing after my H/C & YT install. Pulled the Pas. side valvecover and noticed that corner of the #8 exh. rocker had been hitting one of the dimples inside the valvecover slightly.

My car is a 2001 with A.Speed 5.7 Stage 2s center bolt VCs. So it is not only the '98 owners that need to watch for potential fitment issues. Maybe jay at AS cleaned up the valvecover surface on my heads so the VC sat a little closer to the rockers in my case?

It is easy enough to check, I would pull the valve cover(s).
