Default lid pointless with z hood?

i have an 02 z28 and i heard people have difficulty closing their hood with an aftermarket air lid like the slp one so my question is do i not get a lid untill i get a new hood or should it work out?

I have the SLP lid as well with an aftermarket WS6 hood. There is absolutely no problem with closing the hood, but you can see where it rubs on the lid.

Same here. I have the firehawk hood, and you can see where the LID rubs on the inside. Upon opening the hood, I've ripped off a clamp once also. Not a big concern..but it defiantly touches a little bit.

My SLP lid on a regular T/A. I.E. NON-ws.6 never rubbed, I put on a WS.9 hood and it rubs.

My SLP rubbed till i figured out the previous owner didn't put it in the MAF far enough, and the lip's lid actually goes on the inside of the base. No problems now

you can adjust the rubber bump stops that the hood rests on so it won't rub, thats what they're there for
