How's the f-body market ?
Seriously considering selling my '00 SS and was wondering how the market is ? I am in no way obligated to sell it and had originally intended on building up a motor and throwing a Vortech on it, but just don't feel the need to do so. I never take it to the track and won't street race anymore, so any more mods wouldn't be practical.
Anyone sell their SS/WS6 lately have any advice/feedback ? I am not interested in giving the car away and would rather hold onto it if that's the case. Is $12-13k a realistic expectation ?
As far as the car, it's got 72k, leather, t-tops, built 4L60, stall, eaton posi, LS6 intake, B1 cam, FLP hedders, Borla catback, Ruff Racing 278's, and a few other mods. I do have the original 10 spokes that may be thrown in.
Also, I am not interested in selling any parts or parting out the car.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

12 to 13 seems a little high for what I have seen modded cars selling for. People spending that much will usually spend a little more to get an un-molested car with under 50K miles. Mods and mileage tend to bring the price down. I could be wrong though.

I sold mine last November for $10,800, but I needed a cash buyer mostly since the mileage was 135k. Mods in my Fquick link, but yeah over $15k in parts. I planned on getting a C6, then BMW, then nothing, then a C6 again, then nothing................and so on. I can never make up my mind, still to this day.

Ernest, take a look through the classifieds. The market is depressed. 4th gen F-bodies are selling for relatively low prices... probably due to a couple reasons in particular:
1. More people are selling than before. They may have lost their job due to the poor economy or maybe they are doing well but looking to unload their 4th gen and get a 5th gen Camaro or "upgrade" to a Corvette, etc.
2. There are less buyers. See #1 above. More people are out of work or people who have jobs feel less secure and are currently hesitant to pull the trigger on a big purchase.
3. Credit is tighter. Even if someone wants to buy your car, it might be harder for them to get a loan lately.
So... we have more supply (of used F-bodies on the market) and less demand (fewer buyers) and that results in... you guessed it.. lower prices.

I mean you are turning down an offer of 10K on an almost 10 year old car that cost 30-33k new.

I paid 13k 3 months ago for my '00 SS. That's with 58k miles, only 1500 miles on a MTI 6.0, exhaust, suspension. I only paid that much because it was the original owner, and I got all of the receipts from original purchase date forward.

Best advice I can give: Set in your mind what you want to get for the car, then sell the parts and car to get yourself there. I don't know that patience will really get you anywhere, since F-bodies aren't appreciating in value (and honestly, they're not holding their value all that well either). The longer you have it, the less it will be worth. I know you said you're not interested in parting out the car, but most buyers won't be interested in buying a modded car as it stands. F-bodies are getting cheap, and most people want a cheap platform they can mod to their satisfaction, not yours.
In my case, I knew going in that I wanted between $9000 and $10K from the sale of the Camaro. I wanted enough to pay off what I owed on my DD, so I could eliminate that note before buying the Vette. I ended up making $9500 (parts and car total), which was more than what I owed on the DD (not by much), so I was happy.
