so i took my 2008 CBR1000RR to the track yesterday and turned a 9.61 at 151 mph! just a slip on, BMC air filter, and PCIII. i know it's not an LSX vehicle but damn it's still a 9 sec run. lol. i'll get my slip up later.

bikes are ridiculous. By uncles buddy has a GSXR1100 bored out to 1340 and it runs 8's with his 250lb ass on it.

i was hoping to get some critics. yeah bikes are monsters. i never thought i'd bring mine to the drag strip but i needed to embarass this guy with a Viper SRT-10. he blamed his loss to having a half tank of gas. too bad his 12.5x isnt even close to compete with my run. there was a 700 hp turbo/stretched busa running LOW 8's and he had to back out at the 1/8 mile because he said his brakes werent enough to slow from 200 mph in a half mile. that's nuts!!!

What was your 60', 1.8?

That bike pulls on the other end like something serious, bc my FZ1 only traps 135mph and I'm right at high 9's.

151mph out of a stockish CBR1000....wow, either you are full of shit or Ricky Gadson. the new GSXR1000's want even trap that. Not trying to be an asshole, but I would like to see a video or slip of that pass.

hes not full of shit.. you can take any stock literbike and with a damn good rider cut high 9's stock! thats just a badass run..

bjamick, what do you have done to your FZ? my next bike will probably be an FZ1, i wanna see what itll take to get 9's out of it.

btw, badass run OP! i bet that was better than a 1.8 60'.

I have gutted cats, -1 tooth front sprocket, and an air filter. It should run 9s in better weather, but if I had a 151mph trap I would be in the 8's lol.

you missed the hole point of my post...I stand behind my
statement. I don't think it ran that fast., that mph is
too high. my best friend ran 9.65@147 on a stock wheelebase busa. nothing more than a slip on and strap. I have seen what that bike did to a geared, tuned, full exhaust, intakes cbr1000 on the highway. wasn't even a race.

You guys running 9's on a bike are NUTZ!

I mean that respectfully. Has to be a kick.

I liked the Viper story. I lined up next to one at Speedworld and his license plate said I8URVET. He ran a 12.3 to my 11.8.

The strip has a lot more to do with rider skill than the highway, that doesnt seem like a very good comparison. I get tore up by H/C LS1's all the time on the highway, but it's a different story at the track. The 08 CBR is also a hell of a lot lighter than a busa and it makes awesome mid-range power for a 1000. Congrats on the pass OP, I'll be getting me an 08 1000RR real soon

I had the chance to ride the bolt on CBR I was talking about in my post. I still stand 110% behind my statement..........

You are insane if you think that a CBR1000rr with those mods listed won't out run a basically stock busa. Even on the highway....the busa will get the shitty end of that race. My 2005 Repsol Honda made 151 rwhp.....showroom stock. Tuned, full exhaust, geared......... that Honda will easily make 165-170 if it is a 2005-2007. Closer to 175 or more if it is a 2008 or newer. And sorry.....but the Honda can easily keep up with the GSXR1000. Honda whoops Suzuki all day everyday in FIM WSBK. 151 mph is what that bike will trap all day long....Guaranteed.

My slip on only 08 gsxr 1k went almost 146 out the back door so I can see it with full bolt ons.

How's it going to do that? My box stock '02 Bus put 161 to the tires, and with full exhaust, small airbox mod, ATRE, and a PC3 did 183. How's that going to beat me? Cause it's lighter? BS, even being heavier the wheelbase of the Bus lets it launch harder from a dig and the aero advantage helps from a higher mph roll where weight isn't as much of a factor.

I always hear stories of these liter bikes beating similar mod Busa's...and most people cite peak horsepower as their argument. You can't do that, the Bus has a lot flatter torque curve than the liter bikes...and it more than makes up for its weight. Personally, I've heard people run their mouth...but I've only been beat by one liter bike (and it was stretched and far from stock).

wow this thread has gotten alot of activity. well that run was with my Leo Vince Full exhaust, PC5, BMC air filter, OPP ram air ducts, +1 front sprocket, Marchesini wheels, and with a full lean forward on the 60'. i gotta find that slip to get my 60' time. the bike is getting shipped to Jacksonville so i'll run it again for sure at Gainesville in early September. here are some pics of it

The new 08's and 09's 1000RR's are very fast. Totally different bike than the older ones. But still not enough to outrun a old Suzuki ;)

who said anything about stocker-ish? this bike has HRC cams/springs, Extremely fine tuned mapping, portwork, and i was running a 116 octane mix with lots of timing. i have over 150 lbs over that Busa plus only fat guys with small peckers ride those two wheel 'Zuki slugs. there are many guys running a box stock liter into the deep 9s with just a bit of clutch work, and consistent strategy. the only people who need lots of stretch lack throttle control, clutch working, and weight shifting. please man, just because you ride a bored out, stretched Busa doesnt mean your bike can outrun a ,lighter and far more advanced motorcycle with an extremely seasoned rider onboard. i hope people are subscribing to this thread. i will have some more runs soon enough.

and yes you have seen me on 1000RR.net. i'm happy to hear there are guys as serious about their Blade and they are about their LSX.

oh heres a stocker-ish liter getting 9s. FUCK STRETCH. i'l keep my stock geometry and enjoy my real track days at Jennings or PBIR.
