Thumbs up quick question bout 5.3 liter truck heads...

ok fellas, i might seem like a dope but i need a little help. i wanna save money on my budget head and cam build. if i get aluminum heads from a 99 or newer chevy 1500 pickup in the junkyard how much power expect to gain to the wheels from them just as i get them, no porting or bigger valves just stock from the truck to my ls1???? also would it be wise to work the heads a little before i put them on? how much more horse would worked 5.3 heads get over stock ones? thanks guys look forward to hearing from y'all.

You won't see much of a power gain unless you port the heads. Mill them down and get the bigger valves too.
