i use tropicare dark car wax..but before i used meguires gold both work good..
i heard alot of things about the eagle one nanowax tho and its decently priced!

if u got a few hours you can
wash the car
clay the car.
wash again
polish if you like but need a polisher for best results
wax i usually put 2 thin layers of wax. about an hour apart from each other.
that's about it some tire shine and your good.

or claybar, and mothers or maguires 123 systems

i tried both but nothing beats my porter cable polisher kit.

How to:

Properly remove all surface contaminants before doing anything else- meaning degrease / heavy wash the paint. Follow up wash with an entire clay treatment to every inch of the paint till you have an even glass feel over every inch of the paint.

At this point you need to know how to use a buffer ( cause if you dont know how you will probably damage the paint, even if you dont see the damage at first )

You will need to find a detailing store or an online retailer for cleaning products - Aquire a cut & cleaner type polish for the first pass using a DA or rotary buffer ( if u know how ) and a soft buff pad. At this point go back and see if there are any scratches that have remained visable in the paint and consider a class on wetsanding and going to a more harsh compound type product to make your paint worth making the next steps to.

If you have made it this far Using a wax that also contains a sealer using your DA apply one coat of ultra thin seal. Then move to a final touch style wax with polish.

first you rinse the car off with water
second you foam the car and let the foam eat most of the dust
third you wash it
fourth buy a quick detailer with a clay bar
once u finish that, you might want to remove some of the scratches with rubbing compound. then the last step would be to wax it.

very basically... wash, clay, quick detailer, cleaner/compound, lighter cleaner, pure polish, wax of your choice. i use almost exclusively the meguiars mirror glaze line of products.

you must not be using the correct products/technique if you think meguiars stuff sucks.

i don't feel like reading so i'm sorry if i repeat something.
My process is this. 1. hand wash and hand dry with good soap and microfiber wash mit. A good synthetic chamois and a large microfiber towel will do nicely to dry. 2. TurtleWax Ice is a really good, rediculously reflective synthetic wax - i recommend - apply and wait 5-7 minutes then wipe off with microfiber towel. 3. wait an hour and get some instant detail and spray down the car, being careful not to let the detail dry, then wipe down and polish to a shine with a good soft cloth. Works every time.
be careful with claybars because they are just like polish. you can easily do damage to your paint if you don't follow the instructions exactly. on the other hand the bar is excellent at removing road grime and debris that would ordinarily scratch the hell out of paint. I say that its unnecessary to use a claybar unless the car is extremely dirty.

how on earth can you damage paint with polish unless your applicator is contaminated? and I absolutely disagree about clay not being needed unless a car is extremely dirty. 99% of cars on the road are in need of being clayed.

Adam's I'm sure makes great polishes and waxes, however they do not make any compounds/cleaners that I'm aware of. Good luck getting any serious defects out of your paint with their products. Also I'd venture to say Meguires #7 is one of the best pure polishes on the market, and #105 to be one of the most effective compounds I've ever used.

by that i mean with a buffer. i've seen countless burnt spots in paint from people that used a buffer and did not know what they were doing.
@TXZ28LS1: if you don't know how to buff a car properly just suck it up and pay someone to do it professionally. I ruined a 3k HOK Kandy paint job on one of our other cars when i literally buffed the paint off of it.

And cigs in there too, and make sure you do all car steps in cool shaded area to allow you enough time not to get water spots.

That's ignorant man. Adams polishes aren't aggressive enough to pull out more than VERY light scratches unless you're working with a high-speed rotary with a wool pad. 95% of people will just burn edges all day long with that. Aside from that, I'd agree that 75% of their stuff is the best deal around and generally my go-to stuff. However, when it comes to polishes that deliver results, Meguiars is king. Especially their new M105 - holy effin crap. Use it on a wetsanded car - you'll cream ur pants. U barely have to follow up with M80 for perfection. Insane.

For my black car, I prefer NXT Tech Wax 2.0. Great deep gloss and lasts a good while. Really easy to apply/remove as well.

My detail:
1) Thorough wash with pH balanced carwash soap (ur choice which)
2) Thorough clay bar (get ALL contaminants out or your end result WILL suffer)
** All polish/cleaner steps applied with Dual Action Porter Cable
3) Paint cleaner of your choice (I use their Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner)
4) Polish with M105 (areas that need aggressive compound/heavy swirls/scratches)
5) Follow up lighter areas and areas hit with M105 with M80
6) Apply a coat of Meguiars Professional Glaze (M07), allow to dry, then remove
7) Apply coat of NXT Tech Wax 2.0, allow to dry completely, then remove
8) If desired, allow to cure for an hour or two then apply sealant of choice

ALWAYS use quality microfibers to clean up after every step (EVEN the quick detailer used while claybarring) if you don't, you could end up with nasty stains if using Adam's Quick Detailer. Otherwise, it's all I use, it works well and you can save big by buying it in bulk.

Be very gentle cleaning up after Step 5 and on. Never allow polish to dry on the paint. Make sure the surface is cool to the touch and not in direct sunlight. If you follow these steps carefully and thoroughly, you will end up with a beautiful swirl-free finish.

Here are my go-to Adams products in order from great to blah:
1) Quick Detailer (works perfectly on paint and glass at a great price)
2) VRT (dresses everything beautifully while providing SPF protection)
3) IN N OUT Spray (no longer produced due to tree huggers)
4) Undercarrage Spray (cool stuff, but doesn't last very long - smells awesome)
5) Brilliant Glaze (easy to work with, good for quick shine-ups before shows)

Feel free to comment / ask questions...
