Default How close is too close?

I'm nearing the end of the tunnel on my 69 firebird conversion, and there are a few loose ends that I need to feel comfortable about. The main one is the fuel system. I used russell aluminum line from front to back. Near the engine bay there is one area where the fuel line is about 5-6" away from the headers, and in the rear over the axle, the exhaust gets about 2-3" away at one spot.
Question is...will this cause problems? Or is that enough distance?

It should be alriight, but if your that concerned or it does become a problem, I'd wrap it in some of the Cool It/Thermo-Tec Heat Shield or Wrap.. or even build a aluminum shield.

Exhaust cools as it flows back. So you don't need as much clearance in the rear.

A sheild or some wrap as suggested couldn't hurt.

You should be fine. I ran Russell braided hose and 6AN fittings from the tank to the fuel rail on my S10. It's about 2-3" just down from the exhaust header collector and never had a problem. I just made sure I fastened with zip ties or the like so it won't move. I found some fasteners from Ace Hardware that you can bolt to the frame (or where ever) and there is a eyelet tab on it for a zip tie to go through. I used that to secure my fuel line next to the exhaust.
