Default Is it worth it or wait??????

Looking to do Heads, CAM, springs and Stall. Not sure I can swing all of them with installation. Would it still be worth it to do all of them without the heads for now, or should I wait until I can do the heads as well. I can get the CAM, springs, Stall, and new timing chain and install for around $1900. Is that decent for those? And like I said would it be worth it or wait and if I do it now without the heads what can I expect as far as gains. Never had a stall dont know what to expect from it or how to even take advantage of it.

Wait and do it all at once. That way it'll only be ripped apart once.

yeah you can wait if you dont want to rip everything apart 2 times?... but i dont know what that guy is talking about only gaining 15 hp?? i did a cam swap (234/242 custom crane ), with a yank ss3600, including all the other odds and ends to go with it, and i made 390hp!!! i already had headers and exhaust done too... so if you wanna not do the heads right now dont worry about the power gains... just find the right combo!!!

Yeah, who knows what he's talking about. I'm over 390rwhp cam only. Granted that's through a m6 though.

But yeah, if you are going to do heads, then I agree with the others that you should wait. Plus, the cam you buy should be based on which heads you plan on running.

He's got LT's and a tune. I assume some other bolt-ons, maybe not.

These cars are around 300 RWHP stock. His LT's and tune gave him some RWHP, lets say 15-20 RWHP.

I'd like to see him put a cam in there and make 70-75 RWHP to get him to where you guys are with 390.

Good ****** luck.

True, he may have trouble getting to 390. But if he gets a good cam with a good tune he will come close. I think most people balked at your statement which states that you'll only get 15hp with a cam swap , which is just totally incorrect.

That said, I would probably wait so that you can get a cam that matches your heads. You will make the most power doing it that way and you only have to tear the engine apart once. You may also get a good deal from one of the sponsors if you buy heads and a cam in a package deal that comes with all you need to do the swap.

I'd wait.
