Default Independant Dyno numbers G5X-3 cam and head

Independent dyno numbers

By popular demand I went to an independent dyno to get some numbers this morning to put an end to the idea that the LG Motorsports dyno numbers are either false or manipulated. Speedworks in Lewisvill Tx, a competitor of ours locally. Paid the normal rate for 3 pulls.
I hope that this will quiet the critics, but I am sure that they will still find something bad to say. ( track times this week, so don't even say it)

Thanks

LG

It seems awfully funny that it hit 470 at your dyno, and could only hit 468 elsewhere.

How was the drive over there with 80* of timing and with 250psi in the tires? How did the car drive with no serpentine belt on it?

And, for the record, neither you or any member of your family owns Speedworks, right? [Just getting it out there before it is suggested]

:p

Congrats Lou, excellent work......

I think LG got one of Speedwork's blank dyno sheets and drew those lines himself.

I bet we see some 130mph trap speeds out of that Z06.

we'll find out next weekend.

Kumar is right. We would need weather where you would need a heavy jacket and a hood to get numbers like that.

Great numbers as usual. Can't wait to see some track times!

What kind of track numbers will you be happy with using that setup?

Good job!!

Lou what are your thoughts a GSX3 cam ground on a less agressive lobe? (Say around .560 lift vs the XE-R lobe) Same duration numbers however and still a fairly aggressive lobe. Would a big hit in power occur in your opinion? I am just thinking about spring life.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
Good question. It can really only be answered by testing. I think it would not require heads with as good 600 lift flow, but It would also limit the total air intake into the cylilnder. Less air would surly mean less power. But on a head that stalls at .570 lift, like some, it would be a good deal.

I am not sure what either of you are talking about. There are plenty of heads that have problems with high lift flow, including stock heads. You may know what heads you THINK I am talking about, but I was just saying Where a lower lift CAM would be applicable. I was just answering a question. Nothing more.

Don't you guys ever get tired of trying to read minds?

Those numbers are incredible Lou, they look like 382ci results! Awesome.

I'm surprised you weren't dinged here yet for what appears to be about a 2 HP dyno spike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding, nice work Lou...I never doubted it!

By the way, what size is the exhaust system on this car? Do these headers have merge collectors?

1 3/4 LG Pro Long Tube headers with 32" primary tubes with Merge collectors and 3" x pipe and 3" mid pipes.
It is our own system that we designed and have built by Borla on a private label.
