4l60e help. please I have a chevy 1995 1500 ext cab 1/2 ton 4x4 with 4l60e transmission, I have all foward gears but no reverse acts like it is in nuetral. checked fluid looks clean. any Ideas? also iif the tranny is bad would a 4l60e out of a 1997 1500 1/2 ton be compatable ? some people tell me no ???? I'm confused please help..

Well if you have all forward gears normal but no reverse there is likley some issue with the low/reverse clutch pack or piston or the reverse input drum.
As for the 97 theres no mention of what year your present truck is so cant say. will say if its a 98 up LSX BASED ENGINE 6.0 5.3 4.8 THEN NO ITS NOT THE SAME.
