So this ticking sound started Saturday night along with fluxuation in oil pressure. I figured it was a loose rocker arm or a push rod so i popped off the valve cover on the and the driver side(which is where the noise was coming from) and the forward most rocker arm had play in it, but when i pulled it off and inspected it, the rocker was fine, and the pushrod isn't bent. There is still play so what could it be? Spring is tight and doesn't looked cracked.

How many miles on the engine? I think the stock rocker arms are prone to losing bearings.

How bad is the oil pressure fluxuating?

The industry standard is 10PSI for every 1,000RPM. But a healthy LS1 should be much higher than that, somewhere between 30-40PSI at idle.

Does it fluctuate all the time, even on start up, or only after oil heats up driving around?

How much play are we talking about?

If it's a millimeter, that's normal, and maybe you got lucky enough to stop the engine at TDC.
