Default Anyone been arrested for street racing?

So I got arrested Tuesday night for racing on 290. Thing is, it was an off-duty seargant and his wife (also an officer) that pulled me over in their personal vehicle. I know I didn't have to stop for an unmarked car and I should have just kept going, but my brain just stopped working when I saw the badge. So do you guys think I have any chance of getting this thing to go away since they had no video, no speed, and no real proof?

i almost got arrested for that on numerous occasions

sucks you stopped man, i would have kept going. I hate off duty PO's pulling stupid ****, but that's another story i have for another time i guess. To answer your question, they have a police officer's testimony, which of course goes a long long way in court, and i'm sure this guy will show up because it seems he already has the barney fife hard on for you. good luck with it man. normally I side with PO's, but stuff like this ticks me off

Default Why in the F**K U stop?

If they dont have it on video lawyer up man. Did they arrest you and take you to jail or did the call an on duty cop. I agree with post above I side with PO's 95% of the time but thats bullshit.

I got popped for it in 01, fortunately it was nowhere as serious of an offense then, so I was not arrested. I talked to the Williamson County DA and got off with deferred adjudication. Suffice to say, I keep that **** at track now.

i got 6 months probation (reduced to 3 months)

court fees ($3xx or so)
a fine ($5xx or so)
license suspended
and its a class b misdemeanor, so stays on your record.

technically a police officer is one 24-7. Whether or not they're in uniform it doesn't matter.

I'm afraid to street race because I know they can nail you to the wall for it.

To the OP, yeah you shouldn't ever stop unless its for lights and sirens. Get a lawyer, I did and he got my charges dropped and all I had was community service.

How did you get it dropped? They came up next to me and she was hangin out the window waving a badge yelling to pull over then he got in front of me and basically forced me on to the feeder. If my CDL is taken I'm fucked as far as my job goes until (if) I can get it back. If nothing else I need to get my court date rescheduled because I need to be in columbia at the end of the month.

You're rolling your eyes because I'm being deterred from street racing by the laws they can enforce against me?

They can throw you in jail, fine you, and take away your driver's license.

Oh, look at me, I'm a big idiot.

Wow that sucks...
Hope everything gets worked out, and they don't take your license.
Yet another reason why I *try* to keep it at the Track.
