Default What gains with stock LS6 heads?

Currently, I'm around 400 cam only. I want to do a set of ported LS6 heads, but the damn IRS isn't sending me back enough $$$ <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> So for now, I am contemplating just getting the stockers and throwing them on, then sending them out around summer time to GTP. Would I gain much by using the stock LS6 head based on my cam profile? Is 20 rwhp out of the question?

That's the plan for the future, but I'm really interested if this is a good idea, and what results I could expect.

I believe 20 hp is a given with stock ls6, it flows way more than LS1 head and has better and smaller comb. chamber. Flow doesnt drop at .500" lift on stock LS6 head like it does on LS1 stock.
Still not sure, well what about difference in rwhp between LS1 c5 and LS6 c5 totally stock. I honestly believe most of LS6's gains are in heads. Go for it, they are great heads ported or stock !

Jeff, I was thinking about 20 at the wheels. How is your LS6 R&D coming along?

Yes i am talking 20 rwhp also, my LS6 report goes like this, 311cfm at .575" lift with 225cc port and 211cfm on exhaust with 80cc port and no tube for testing. This is 10cc bigger than my max effort LS1 5.7 head but averages like 10 cfm more thru all of lift range than it. It is still conservatively sized aginst CNC versions of lS6 head. Slowhawk will be dyno and track testing my 243 castings soon and will report gains.
Five liter Eater will be testing my Max effort LS1 heads and he will also be reporting results here.
