Question Those that ran the XFI 292 cam. converter??

my car is a 73 Nova SS bout 3300-3500 pounds, it will have a 3.90 gear. i have in my possession a BTE 3500-3800 10" stall converter, i feel it will be to loose even with the large duration and the gear, for those of you that ran the 292 cam, such as fergymoto, what stall did you run in ur automatics????

I ran a 3400 Fuddle. It was the only converter I ran with that setup so I have no realistic info for you on what works and what doesn't. I would try the converter you have. Better yet you could talk to BTE and see what they recommend for your setup just to get an idea if what you already have is close or not.

i think ill just get a new 3200 out of jegs or sumthin, that 3800 is extremly loose, i dont want to chance it and have it revvin like hell just to cruise around town, plus if i try it and it doesnt work i dont wanna go back and take it out, id rather do it only once...thanx though

It's a big cam, I would stick with the one you have over getting a smaller one.

I would not go smaller considering the size of that cam.
