Blew my Transmission *help*
Im driving a 2000 Camaro SS. Well it was a really nice day so I went out to wash my car and go for a little joy ride. I was rowing through the gears of my m6, until I was locked out of 4th. I tried to shift back to 3rd and that didnt work either. I then heard lots of clunking noises and metal grinding. I did get 3rd gear back so I now only have 1st, 3rd, and reverse. I was able to baby it home, though the car was vibrating quite a bit.
The transmission has 114,000 miles on it at this point. I should have seen this coming since 3rd gear would always grind once before it warmed up. I also had a lot of trouble shifting into 2nd, and 3rd when running full throttle. These gears would often be completely locked out. I didnt notice this a few months earlier. It only started happening fairly recently, though I can't be sure because I don't "get on it" all that often
Im basically using stock power at this point other then an intake mod, and a cat back exhaust. What are my options at this point? Can I have the tranny rebuilt? or am I best off buying a used transmission? One thing I know is I don't have the money to buy a new tranny at this point. It is my DD.

Do a rebuild and beef it up up so you know what kind of power it can handle if you ever start to mod heavily. Also I would think the rebuild would be cheaper depending on how much you do I guess.

Tick performance. Get the level 2 rebuild kit and do it your self. Or ship it there. i think it's around 1,200.00 shipped both ways to have them do your tranny (depends what you have done). I didn't think six speeds inc. was open anymore.
