switch from 4l60 to TH350
I was wondering if some of you guys on here that have made the switch from a 4l60 to a turbo 350 would tell me how big of a project this is and how hard it is? I was wondering if and what needs to be changed to make the turbo 350 fit and if there is any fabrication that has to be done to make it fit? I was also wondering how strong is a 4l80e and would that be a better route than a turbo 350 for any reason besides the obvious driveability considering it has OD? Any comments or ideas would be great thanks!

i did the swap and love it, i just wished i had done it sooner. it does kind suck driving around on the street. you have no idea how nice OD is until its gone. I would change out the flexplate with an TCI they have the dual bolt patterns for the converter. As for the swap you will need a new cross bar for a th-350 BMR sells one, a new dip stick, drive shaft, i used my stock shifter for a while but i dont recommanded it. Not all the bolts for thebell housing are going to match back up, i think there is 3 bolts that wont be used.

If this is going to be an everyday driver or see a lot of highway use(basically not a weekend warrior car or dedicated drag car) then don't go with a TH350. Get a built 4L60E and be done with it. The 4L80s can be expensive from what I've saw
