Default scatter shield?

i have a stock 4l60e with 30k.....402/381 373 gears and 3k stall....iv heard horror storries of trans coming up and taking guys legs off, if and when my trans goes im lookin at it comin up through the floor board? i was lookin at gettin a scatter shield if that was the case, thanks

Scattershield s are for the flexpalte converters and a blanket is usually used on tranny.

If you're going to go drag racing and like your legs and feet you might use one.

Really depends on what class (how fast you go) whether or not you're required to have one.

well i like my legs and feet thats why i want one, i dont race, just test and tune, and where i go they dont tech for ****, so i can get away with it i dont car about that its more for personal safety, i was just wondering if 4l60e completely stock with 30,000 miles with 402/381 2800 stall 373's and a mickey thomson, put me in the situation where i need to look into one, or of thats not really necessary yet bc im not making enough power/not leaving at a high enough rpm?????/thanks for the help

It's really not about your power level as stock converters can explode from heat, etc ...

If you're going to race the car, I would buy one.

I am going to put one in my corvette when I convert over from a six speed to an automatic.

Don't want to end up like Daddy Don Garlits and blow off half my foot
