Smile The Hot Rod is BACK!

1st of all I have to give Andrew(Camaroholic) I very big thanks for the loan of a Stock 45,000 mile B-1 cammed motor! Buddy this thing ROCKS!

I raced this weekend at the Super 10's at HRP. We had a great time.

Now for the results;

Saturday went 5 rounds(only 5 cars left) with a best of 7.15 @ 95 mph. Made a little money but was on cloud nine on how well this motor ran. :p

Sunday went 6 rounds(3 cars left) with a best of 7.13 @ 96 mph.
I made a little money again but the bad news is I had the tree on the guy(.532 to his .569) in the semi-finals and was ahead of him by 1/2 car when I hit 2 gear the Hot Rod didn't go into gear for some reason and I lost the race. I think we broke 2 gear in the brand new tranny. My wife is taking the Hot Rod to the tranny shop this morning to get her fixed so we can make the Shootout this coming weekend.

All in all we had a great weekend. We made 23 passes(great seat time for the Shootout).

I even got to drive my Dads Pro Mod Hot Rod last night at HRP. His Hot Rod will fly.

I want to thank again Andrew, Thunder Racing, Madman Racing and Valves Unlimited for all your help. You guys ROCK!

See ya at the Shootout. I am ready for the bracket race! :p

If I coulda run 11.2's with that motor, I woulda kept 'er in there! :p Dang good times for that motor. My best was an 11.96 with that motor... Auto... Hmmmm...

You sure you broke the trans, or did the shifter cable come loose again? :p

Glad you had fun. See ya on Friday at Thunder.

We checked the shifter cable. Every thing was ok. I will fine out later today what the problem is.

I think that we can run some 11 teens to some 11 0's this weekend at the Shootout.

Congratulations.

Are you still running 5.13's?

What's the raceweight of your car nowadays?

James,
Thanks my little drag racing buddy. I hope to see ya at the track soon.

Bruce,
The M6 is long gone. I am now trying to win a little money bracket racing.

John,
My real racing motor will have a big TR cam and we hope that it will put the Hot Rod into the 6.50 @ 105 to 108 mph range.

Mike,
Yes, I still have the 5.13's in her and the new race weight is 3150 with me in her.

Kayle(My Wife),
Thank You for all your help this weekend and for taking the Hot Rod to the Tranny shop yesterday.

Coach glad to see you back in the saddle...I know Brian was getting tired of ur car at his shop..LMAO...so u getting a new TR motor or what's up? Just curious...

Have u had to change gearing going to the A3? I know you had MM put in that 4:57 or whatever just curious as to what you went to w/the A3 now...

I wish I didn't like to drive so much, or I'd have an A3 already....oh well...maybe if I can get another beater here soon I'll put the A3 in....

Josey,

A new TR LS1 346 motor is going back in the Hot Rod right after the Shootout.

I still have the 5.13 gears in her.

Are you going to the Shootout?

Damn!! 513's?!! what are you going thru the traps at 8,000 rpm?? Doubt we'll be at the shootout..w/a baby on the way and all I'm trying to save every penny...after 6yrs of marriage we finally got a lil blessing headed our way...Jen's almost 11 weeks along soooo....most of our "Fun" is being put off for necessity's sake. We are saving for a forged 346/347 bottom end, built trans and rear...but other than that...we're just skimpin and saving. With 110,000 on the stock bottom that's just something we have to get done...even though we aren't racing....w/the power we're making anything could happen ya know?

I do not know what I will trap in the 1/4 mile just yet but in the 6-speed I was trapping right at 7,000rpm across the finish line.

Good luck with the baby.

Let me know if you head to the track anytime soon.

I will know for sure when we are leaving tonight after my wife has her volleyball play-off meeting. She won last night in the 1st round. She is trying to change the play-off game from Friday night to Thursday night so we can leave Friday morning for the Shootout!

What a great wife I have.

Madman, I will call ya later this morning.

Smoke_ur_5.0,
I ran 11.001 @ 124 mph with 1.45 60 fts.

With the new fresh motor in April we went 6.88 @ 102 with a 1.48 60 ft in the 1/8th mile before the motor was hurt again.

Josey,
Thunder Racing Shootout in Baton Rouge LA. on this Saturday Nov. 8th and Sunday Nov. 9th.
