Default PTV Clearance Questions....

Running a 1998 Trans Am, and looking at swapping in a pair of 806 heads that have been milled .035" I know that 806 heads came factory with a thinner headgasket due to a larger CC. The question is, how much a cam can be squeezed in without PTV issues. Obviously, I will check when I assemble the motor, but I would just as soon be pretty close on the first attempt if you know what I mean....

The largest cam I think you can fit on that setup would be something similar to a 228R(228/228). MAYBE our Torquer v.2 (232/234) would fit, but it would be pretty close. Thats a decent amount of milling done on a stock casting head.

Cliffs: Your going to have to check, no matter what anyone recommends because they wont buy you a new engine if you run into issues.

I milled my LS3 (big 2.16" intake valve) and had them milled .030" and barely had room for my 219/235 on a 113 LSA Cam

It's an 806 head. According to the specs it has a larger combustion chamber than all other LS1 heads, Is it a thicker casting, or am I just thinking incorrectly?
