why is my 02 z28 automatic only running 13.72? i mean it's bone stock but i thought it would put up better times than that, i've heard of stock 99 z28's doing like 13.30's what's up with that

How was the air conditions (IE. temperature, humidity)? Do you have 2.73's or 3.23's? Better conditions and more launches should get you where you want to be.

Where do you race? What does the car weigh? Did the air suck like jp74 asked? A lot of small details will add up to what your car can or might do at the track.

Depending on the air and if you can improve on the 60' at all with that MPH you should be able to do a 13.5 or closer to it.

As mentioned above, more information is needed before we can say whether the pass is good or not. This time of year isn't optimal air conditions, and your 60 foot time isn't great (but we don't know your gear ratio).

the air temp was like 65 roughly, the humidity on the time slip said 98 and the absolute barometer said 29.38, i think the car has 2.73's in it, i looked under the car and it has a steel driveshaft, i read if it has the steel shaft it has 2.73's and the aluminum shaft it has 3.23's

With those weather conditions and if the car does have 2.73 gears, that's not a bad time for this time of year. My A4 3.23 geared Formula went a best of 13.47 at 103.50 mph with a 2.06 60 foot time bone stock in September Florida air.
Don't get discouraged, just start thinking about what to mod first!

Yeah, if it's got 2.73's then a gear swap and drag radials will get you bottom 13's.

If you have 2.73's if your an auto you will prob be under 2k rpm @ 70mph. With 3.23's @ 70 it should be around 3500 rpm.

Add a set of 3.73's and that car will definitely be a low 13 sec car. Your 1/8 mph is a lil low which is prob bc you do have 2.73's. These cars should be right at 84mph in the 1/8. The 1/4 mph looks good, but with some gears I see it being around 107mph. Most likely you will need a nice set of tires to get the best gains possible.

**** 13.7 stock thats good. esp if you have 2:73's. i have 3:23's and MODS in my sig and went 13.7 at 103.45mph.---2.12 60ft-- THE D.A. was 5300ft that day so it would help to be about 4000ft lower at least.

my 02 ss was running 13,5 at 108 at atco in nov. im thrilled with that especially since it is stock. my 1983 z was running 16's when it was new. i think we have become spoiled with these newer cars expecting to run faster. gears and tires will definatley help, i had a lot of tire spin on my 13.5 run they were kumho street tires. im not sure what gears are in there, there what ever gm or slp put in there. a stall converter wouldnt hurt, just make sure you dont go to wild if you want to keep it streetable.
