Default Brian(Fireball) Testing Drag radial @ Cecil

Made 2 hits on the new converter, very promising MPH, same tuneup very fat. Backed down the launch RPM to start fresh on the new converter which was tightened dramatically. Went 8.3 @ 181 with a 1.53 60'. He is starting to creep up the leave RPM to get the first 330' inline. First pass was a 1.75 60'. Added alittle on the leave RPM came back with a 1.53. Next pass the car should be back in the 1.30s. We could see a 7 second pass out of the little Virginia Speed Built 366" turbo motor.

Made the same change for the 3rd pass that dropped .5 on the second run....looking for 7s

Still fighting an ignition-related problem at 7500 rpm (breaks up)...this pretty much has mph limited the car at the traps...probably would've been 185-186 on the last run

New converter is MUCH TIGHTER

all runs were 25psi peak...and guess what...didn't appear to push any water...who said you can't seal a 4-bolt head

First run....

60'-1.696
330-4.144
1/8-5.972
mph-140.21
1000-7.524
1/4-8.814
mph 180.43

run two...more rpm (more boost) on launch
60'-1.502
330-3.732
1/8-5.526
mph-142.64
1000-7.064
1/4-8.351
mph-181.13

run 3 (a little more rpm on footbrake and transbrake)
60'-1.496
330-3.675
1/8-5.444
mph-144.55
1000-6.973
1/4-8.256
mph-181.35

The MPH is definetly there for some even quicker passes. I knew the converter would really pick it up.

****, not pushing water and an ESTIMATED 1625HP without getting after it early. There is another 5-6mph by bring it in quicker.

Congrats Brian. You're making quick progress. Let me know when you'll be at Cecil T&T next time. I'll make the trip down.

not really sure...

mixture is very very fat up top...maybe its just too much rpm + fuel to light
plug gaps are closed up alot (.020)
plug wires all checked out
I even put in a new crank pos sensor over the weekend...

I guess its conceivable I have a weak coil...they are the truck units...but don't have any spares laying around

What?B.S.,you need six bolt heads to make that much power-i know this cause i read it on the internet-has to be true.

goes to show you don't need a big expensive motor to go fast-stock ls2 block and little ETP 225's getting it done

7.80's are right around the corner

Good job Fireball and "CREW"

I think Tom and Harlan were having the same problems. Get ahold of them and pick their brains.
