Port Heads or not?
I bought this car when i was in the 10th grade. Slowly but its becoming a demon from hell. what i have done to it now. CAI, MAFS, PS mid legnth headers, Header muffler, 3'' catback, 52mm tb, Hypertech Programmer, 2300 stall, trans go shift kit, and a corvette servo. My plan is get a CC503 (springs 1.6 rockers ect.) I was wondering if i should port my heads? I've look at new after market heads but they cost to much for me. So is it worth to get my heads ported or should i not touch them at all?

What he said and many others. I went with Lloyd and his customer service is second to none. I've heard great things from AI as well, all depends on what you want to spend and what you want out of you car. I'll be getting my car back late this week, and I'll tell ya how it feels lol

All jokes aside. If you go with a set of ported heads from AI with a matched cam. Chances are, you won't get outrun by anything that is daily driveable. Including domestics. People don't realize how fast a 400whp N/A car is. Unless you go out with the heavy hitters on Saturday nights.

400rwhp is alot and will beat mostly everything you encounter on the street. But as said above if you go out with the heavy hitters on weekends, that will be the average HP of most the guys.

I don't know where you guys live but a 400rwhp manual will get eaten alive out here!!!
For a true daily driver street car though it will be a lot of fun, and more importantly something you can live with day to day.

Just remember there will always be someone faster than you, be an import or what ever. Just build to what you can afford and go out and have some fun. The key is to stay in your league. Around here there are many 12 sec street cars but if you attempt to engage with the big boys then youd better have a 9-10 second street ride...11's are for your grandma

That's the heavy hitters I was talking about. I live 30 miles west of Jacksonville Fl. There are pleny of 8 sec. street cars. For the average though low 11's is good competition.

I live bout 20 miles south of Sioux falls. It's a decent sized city but there, either you will waste them or get you *** handed to you. I know I won't be top dog but I'm trying to get close as I can with a DD. One of the faster cars is a twin turbo evo. I hate imports.

What you should do is install the cam, rr's, and springs, ditch the hypertech and get a real tune. Then track your car and see where you are at (should be in the 12's). When you have the money, get a higher stall, 3.73 gears, retune. Then when you have even more money, throw on a pair of ported stockers from Ai or LE, retune. Then when you have more money again, ditch the mids and get LT's. That would be my plan of attack. That should get you into the 11's no problem.
