N E 1 using the LG Rear End Girdle?
Has anyone tried the rearend girdle by LG? I'm wondering if it actually will make a stock 3.42 or 4.10 10 bolt any stronger or atleast extend it's life. I don't ever plan on running slicks, only DR's.

Yeah, I have a G2 girdle on my 10-bolt. It'll probably add a little life to your 10-bolt. If you do a lot of high RPM drops it'll just postpone the inevitable though.

I was told by two shops. Waste of money. I'm gonna steal my bro's stock cover with a drain hole.
His rear end blew (4.10's 10 bolt) and throw a bolt right through the purty TA Girdle. Great investment huh?
Maybe save the dough for your 12/9/8.8 rear end and run the stock cover. Thats my plan. I'm keeping my 2 series and 2.73's in case i blow up i can at least rock out with less gear.

The girdles have a drain plug (something the stock units lack) and a slightly higher oil capacity and should run alittle cooler. The stud kit should help some. I think its great for those who do autocrossing and road courses.
But I have to agree that for drag racing (particularly high rpm dumps) it won't help much. But what kind of idiot would put 4.10's in a stock 10 bolt and expect it not to break? Of course it threw a bolt. The girdle isn't design to stop that kind of abuse. No matter what you do to our 10 bolts, it won't stand up to that.

It's a support, not a scattershield. Once the rear fails, the cover is along for the ride. Unfortunately, 10 bolts explode at the drag strip and all a cover will do about that is limit how far the parts fly.....
