Default v6 grand prix work

so im going to be workingo n my friends 2006 grand prix on saturday...upper manifold gasket, t-stat, tranny service, and coolant flush...anything i should know about before digging into this one? is the manifold gasket/tsat hard to get to on these cars?

If its the 3800 it may not b the gasket its a warped/cracked manifold from the egr heat. parts stores stock them now (like$125) and they have a egr kit that puts the heat further inside the manifold that comes with it. easy fix though.

all i know is my friend brought it to a garage, they diagnosed it and im just replacing what they were going to charge him for haha

Its has a rubber gasket that goes around it its like an oring. The easiest themostat you will ever change takes about 45 seconds.

Yeah, the plastic manifolds are known to crack. Pressure test the coolant system and alot of times you can hear the coolant leaking into the intake.

its not a plastic manifold on that car. we did pressure test the system and couldnt find any leaks
