Default Going to CECIL on a FRI..Am I wasting my time??

Got a group of friends that are going to cecil tonight and i was gonna ride up there. I've never been to cecil, but I've heard things about friday nights like they don't prep the track at all, and its so packed you only get like 2 runs. Can anyone verify?

Also i was looking at their website an noticed they don't have a test n tune on fridays, but a grudge match. I've only ever done test n tunes, how is it different than that?

grudge match and test and tune are the same. wed and sat are the best days to go. less kids running moms car or 15 sec civics. fri if you get there when gates open you can usually get 3 or 4 passes but the track prep is minimal at best. fri is good to watch the idiots run but thats about it

So if i'm dumping the clutch at 4400 off the 2 step on 275 ET streets, it's safe to assume im gonna blow my tires off?

yup, its like any other track, go look at the starting line and adjust your car accordingly

Fri. are crap when it comes to prep, you can usually make a couple good passes if you get there when the gates open and at the end of the night as well, I launch my car on 28/11.5/15 ET Streets@15 psi at 6k or so and spin half or more of first gear but can still easily pump out a 11.7-11.8, but like thechef said, you just have to make a pass and adjust for the next one.

I ran a 12.04@113 WED night but I was playing it safe. I was only launching at 1500rpm.

It was actually a pretty good night with a lot of people at OCMD. i got 5 runs in between 7 and 9 in our blue camaro, track prep was decent as well.

Well i got there kinda late but i still got like 7 runs in. Couldn't find traction at all. Since i have a 9" and textralia clutch this season, i was able to dump the clutch without fear for the very first time tonight. For the first couple runs i had the 2 step set to 4400 rpm and i spun all through 1st for a 1.9 60' then bogged in 2nd. After that i lowered the 2 step to 3500 rpm...and i spun all through 1st for a 1.9 60' then bogged in 2nd. I was able to manage a 1.77 60' slipping the clutch but then i missed 4th gear. Best time i could muster all night was a 12.0@122 with a 1.9 60' spinning all thru 1st then bogging in 2nd.

I have only used my two step once so far.. I managed the same results as you.. A ton of spin at a much lower RPM then expected.. Going to be a learning curve on this one LOL

I'd rather race on the street from a stoplight than wait an hour each time there.

I went there 3 weeks ago and there were only 15 cars there. I got 12 runs in a half hour.
