LT1 Oil Flow
I have a reman '94 LT1 in my '87 chevy 1/2 ton. Its an AC Delco (aka mexican rebuilt) motor that has I'd say around 60k miles. Its super clean on the inside but has always had a noisey valvetrain. When I put new springs in it I noticed that some of the rockers took a few minutes to get oil. And after towing with it I have a mean lifter tick.
So my question is, did GM cut down on oil flow to the top end of the engine when they designed the LT1? If so, I figure a new set of lifters would be in order since I do have good oil pressure all around. If not, motors gotta come out and investigate it further.
