Default My new Vibrant "mufflers" pics inside...

Saw a link for these on the forums, so I jumped on the 3" in/out 5" long mufflers. Will be running these straight off the header collector with a turndown.

Nice, but if I may ask? What is the point of putting that and not just a straight pipe on?

Wow, those will likely be louder than the Dynomax bullets, and those things drive me crazy. Not really a "muffler" per say, but whatever floats your boat.

The point is to pass the muffler rules at my local strip, and for a cop they'll look like cats. They ran like 62+ shipping. I'm going to run these and a 3" y into 4" single catback for street duty, and just pull the catback and Y-pipe for the track.

Put some handles on them and they'll look like beer mugs. I guess you can tell what I'm doing right now. Correct, .

Those will do absolutely nothing to deaden sound, that I guarintee. I tried something like that already.. had them on teh car for 5 min, too them off and put the turndowns back on the collectors when I was running the car n/a It was a waste of time, in the sound deadening department.

Englishtown has a muffler rule that says you have to run at leat a 2 chamber baffled muffler, granted I know there's guys that aren't running a legal muffler and getting away with it... but I went by the book, and put a pair of super 44's on my car and it did alot to quiet it down, even with 3.5 inch in/out piping running to them.

FWIW, I've gone just as fast with the exhuast on as I have with it off.... so it's not hurting performance one bit.

my local dragstrip rules say that you just have to have mufflers, so these fit that requirement. I'm running them in the y-pipe to be legal when running a cutout. Still have 4" exhaust all the way to the bumper though, but this gives me the option to pull the exhaust completely off and stay legal

i run a similar deal on my car.
just used the cheap shoenfeld cricle track mufflers.
they are only 20 bucks a piece and do the same thing.
the vibrants are prolly going to be a pound lighter due to lighter materials used.
nice price on them compared to other brands of the same type. the burns is 250 bucks a pop.
