Default Leaking transmission fluid

I went to the drags a few weeks ago and then my car sat in the garage for about a week. When I went out there to put some new oxygen sensors in I noticed a small puddle on the floor. At first I thought the front plate on the transmission was cracked (the part btw the tranny case and the bellhousing) but after cleaning it with brake cleaner and letting it sit I found that it was coming from the seam btw the front plate/ adapter and the bellhousing (right on the botton, not on the sides). From what I can guess so far by looking through threads I think it might be the input shaft seal on the transmission. Does that sound right to anyone? I tightened the bolts to the bellhousing slighty and it stopped leaking (so far) but I don't think there should be any fluid in there at all (correct me if I am wrong) and it's just building up in there. I'm probably going to pull the transmission soon but wanted opinions from you pros on here first. Thanks in advance for any help.
