Default ls2 into 1998 Mercedes Suggestions and Advice please :)

Hello,

My name is Daniel, im from australia.

I stumbled accross this site when researching an ls2 transfer into my mercedes.

My Mercedes is a 1998 C200 sedan (w202)

The LSx series motors are a massive market in australia, have huge after market support/parts etc, however not alot of conversions get done, especially not into Euro's which is what im about to attempt.

Basically im after advice and ideas on how to set the engine up.

I have covered the following:

- I need to convert from a steering box to rack and pinon (Planned and ready to go)
- I need to have custom engine mounts and trans mounts fabricated (planned and ready to go)
- I need a custom driveshaft (sorted)
- I may need to replace DIFF and tailshafts, but ill wait til i blow my standard diff, it may hold the power.

The parts i need advice or help on are:

- The wiring - my car has a CAN BUS system, is there anyway to get the motor to interface with this system easily?

- How do you run the ls2 motor without the BCM (body control module) from a car they come from?

- Can you run the engine without it interfacing with the other systems of the car, eg, electrics on the brakes/suspension/abs etc... Can i run my current mercedes ABS etc, even though the mercedes engine will no longer be there.

Does anyone have some advice/suggestions, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advanced.

here are some pics of the car (Shaved handles, custom paint, 20's, Air suspension etc)

http://www.speartech.com/ here's a couple of places to read up on...the guys on the M-B site may bite; there's alot of purists. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/index.php also search LS1tech-a guy transplanted a 6.0 into an SL 600 awhile back on here. Come to think of it, the same car was on this forum as well... http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129-sl-class/
