I think that those are great results for unported heads.

why did you not port them prior to the install?

You need a converter, and you'll be even more impressed.

Get a converter and port your heads and you'll EASILY see another .6 or .7. Maybe more.

I missed the fact you had no converter noted. This is going to be a fast car with a proper stall and some nice ported heads.

Ran out of green, or should I say I stopped spending before the bill got to high. I was more or less just wanting to know if this was average, bad, or good for a "normal" cam only 383, if you can even call it cam only.

Like everyone said, heads + converter + others in the plans.

Looks pretty good to me. My buddy's A4 383 went 12.08 @ 113mph. Setup was a hotcam, stock ported heads, 2000 stall, 3.42 gears, approximately 3800lbs race weight. Like they said, if you get some nice heads and a good stall then you'll be deep into the 11's.

Years ago, I ran a 12.1@117 with the cc306 in my 383,factory heads that were ported, 3200 stall, and that was with a 1.86 short time. So, yea you've got potential

I am curious how much lower I can get with a dyno tune, it has a mail order in it now.

Cam only that's pretty good. But dude get some ported heads. Save up that'll help immensely, put you deep into the 11's. Good job though.

You've got more in it with better tire and convertor..

You should pick up a bit with a dyno tune, and you'll really see a difference with a set of ported heads and a converter. I'm hoping to pick up over 4 tenths with my A3/stall.

With all said and done, your car is doing well.

Every 1/4 mile track has a 1000ft mark.
