way to go.
That was an impressive run. I saw your car parked all night (we were parked down the row from you) and did not think you were going to run it. I was tired of standing at the fence and went into the bleachers to rest my feet. I no more get all comfortable in the stands with my coke in hand and Allen jr. says. "hey Dad! That 2010 is gonna run!" I did not have time to get down there so I videoed from the stands. What's worse is that my other son had the video camera and so I had to use my digital camera. The video is crummy, but it's better than nothing.

Dame bro , I did not get to see you get to run it . That is a sweet ride you got and a good time slip.
I am Daniel the guy who was running the Silver 2008 GMC with the blower.
So what's you plans for it next. I was in the market to get one but with all the crap going on right now with trying to get one, I may just go ahead and get me another vette insted , maybe a good used 2006 Zo6.:D

Congrats! Thats moving out good for an almost stock vehicle! 11's here you come!
Those big wheels are probably costing you a tenth or 3! It will be interesting to see what people will end up doing to put a conventional drag tire on it. Some Wilwood rear drag brakes maybe?

Seems like you were able to get a much better launch than most-you need to patent that technique...:D

What was the DA like and do you think there is anything left in it the way it sits?

Looked like a lot of clutch slip on that launch, I think he was at the 60' mark before the clutch was fully engaged. Very nice run, slicks will def put that baby in the low 12's. Great E.T.!

It was my first pass and first time going down the track with it...I think i could of get a better pass...i rode the clutch a little too much at the launch.these car's being that there so heavy and no mods will fall on its face out the whole if you dump it with slicks.

Sounds like more gear will suit these cars well.

111 mph is around what they run stock... one would almost chalk the good time up to good driving rather than the mods...

Show me of a vid of someone doing a 111mph pass on a track in this weather in a production car..all i see on youtube is anywhere from 106mph to 109mph.motor trend and the other mags all used pre production cars and were in 30 deg.plus weather...

simmer down. i was gonna say motortrend ran 111mph. you should have ran a before and after, otherwise it's meaningless. run the car, then put it back to stock and run it again. that will tell you if it really helped or not.

Go check other 5th generation boards. Seems like the average mph on stock cars is 106mph from board members posting up times.

Did you run on the stock tires or slicks and what psi did you have the tires set at? I plan on heading out next week with my A6. I hope to nail that 60' time as best as I can.

OK, I don't know much about tuning, but do you know if the shop that tuned your car removed any torque management from the ECM? Just wondering how much difference that might have made. One of the original comments I read was saying that the computer closes the throttle down to 27% during shifts, just curious if you guys over rode that or if you noticed it.

I believe the torque management is only on the automatic transmission vehicles.

Wish I could find where I read it, when Nineball ran the car (M6), he said something about leaving the throttle on the floor while shifting and the ecm still reduced the throttle down to 27%. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me either, just wondering if they found any parameters for torque management in the factory tune.
