Default Slapping / Ticking engine noise? with sound clip

I'm hearing a slapping / ticking noise from the drivers side of the engine.

I'd like to know if this noise is normal or what problem it could be. Maybe a loose spark plug or wire? piston slap? I have no idea. Tell me what you think and turn the volume up to listen for it.

The car is a 1998 Z28 with 63k miles. Stock internals.

Second video where the noise isn't really there.

I haven't noticed anything different in terms of driving. I'd say it started about 10k miles ago, I noticed it shortly after I did an intake manifold swap.

The new intake manifold being metal possibly amplifying the sound? Could it at all be a fuel injector?

The sound has not really changed at all, sometimes it seems louder to me. When I rev the engine the sound goes away.

Give German Castrol 0w30 oil ( autozone ) a try, it should help your problem.

Sounds like piston slap mines doing the same thing its even worse with LT headers and poly mounts. mine goes away completely once fully warm. Nothing to worry about just don't stand on it or bottle it till its warm.

I've been told to use "high mileage" oil in cars older than 2005 because of the lubrication differences. Was told that it reduces piston slap. Don't know if it has any truth to it or not but maybe worth a try.
