Default need how-to for t56

im looking for a how-to write up on the t56. I need to replace the reverse synchro, and hopefully without dropping the tranny.

Thanks guys

85MikeTPI says it possible by removing the crossmember and removing the tail section of the tranny.

You have to get the Tail Shaft off.

Much easier to do on the floor. Prob easier to remove in one piece too...

Good luck with that.

so is there any place I can get a how-to? doesn't have to be on how to do it with the tranny still on the car, just on how to change out that reverse synchro

You need to get the Tail Shaft off and pull the Reverse Gear off so you can get access to the Slider/Synchro assembly.

What exactly is yours doing?

i accidently threw it into reverse while racing(don't ask me how, cuz I dont even know how I got it past the lock-out). the reverse gear works perfectly, but is a bitch to get it into the gear, so i ground the synchro to shreds. And thanks Bad Blue. Thats exactally what I was looking for.

It's possible but why. It's would make so much more sense to do it right and drop the tranny.
