Noise!
Hey guys, when I let off the gas and just coast there is this noise that sounds like a high pitched humming sound. It is non existant/a little faint when I am on the throttle. Could this be gear whine? Thanks guys.

this sounds similar to the noise just before I ate my pinion gear on my 3.73s... but it was almost immediately after that I hear something that sounded like a machine gun. I drove it like that to my buddies shop (10 minutes away) We pulled the cover and found out it was the pinion gear broke 2 teeth. Only way to find out if your rear is in need of new parts is to take it apart man. Get a jack an a few wrenches and spend a couple of hours fuggin with it.
that will make you change the fluid too. Just make sure you know what you are doing and don't go changing the shims around and stuff..

Sounds like you spun the pinion bearings. Just a thought. When you open it and cannot see anything wrong. Then there is a good chance its the bearings. It happens from improper torque.
