Default LT1 long block

Hi,
I'm new to this site, not sure if this is the right spot for this question. I'm the original owner of my 1995 Z28, I think I just spun a bearing in the motor. I am thinking about a new LT1 long block and swapping the rest of the components. Trying to find out of the GM P/N 88894195 is a LT1 long block or older vortec long block. Found the part on genguinegm.com Also, is the only way to pull the engine from under the car by dropping the cradle. I would like to minimize the cost of the swap, and if I need a lift to drop the engine its going to be costly. I won't beable to do the work myself. Thanks.

I always pull my LT1/LT4 motor out the top using a cherry picker. I've gotten to the point where I even leave the hood on the car. Had to pull the motor too many times.
