Default How much would i gain?????

I have a 2000 camaro z28 with lid, ls6 intake, lts, ory, borla catback with cut out... and I recently went to the track an ran a 8.75 at 83.43 . The temp was at around 77 degrees. I just want to know how much i would gain from a tune and some 3.73 gears. My best is a 8.51 at 85 during cold weather.

dont know why you are mad about those times they are about the norm for those mods... i think that witht the gears and tune you might just run 8.4-8.5... but thats IMO

well i got almost your same mods and best ive gotten is an 8.77@84mph... I think the rest might just be a driver mod. I'm sure my friend could run my car better than I do and post a better time, is your buddy stick or auto?

could you explain the shift tune !?!?

would it be necessary with 3.73's or would you do it with stock gearing also !?!?

I basically have the same mods as you minus the LS6 intake, and ran a 7.95 @ 86MPH with an A4 Trans
It was a little cooler tho than 77*
I assume it would run a 8.2 in 77* weather..
With a tune you should see a gain.

thats not always true..my buddy had a formula with the same options as my z28 and my car out weighed his easily by over a 100lbs

not all cars put down the same power also, just because you and the other person have the same mods its going to perform exactly the same.

Yeah this is true. Another difference is that I have Cloth seats and SS hood and wing, and a ported TB. So mine might weight a little less than his.

cloth or leather doesn't matter, thats just a skin so to speak that covers the foam. What matters is if the seats are power or not. SS hood is lighter than a z28 hood, but im not sure on the wing.

But i dont think that makes 100 pounds of diff. I mean his car is 2000 camaro ss and mine a 2000 z28 so i cant see that much diff in weight.

usually after market suspension like torque arms, LCA's, panhard bars weigh less than stock.

subframes add weight and wheels make a big difference too.
