Question Cam upgrade questions

What would be the max you can go without reprogramming your computer? Also about how long does it take to install a cam?

What do you currently have done to the car? There are several mods that can be done to make for a better setup rather than just jumping into a cam on a stock car. If your budget doesn't include a tune at the time being, I personally would recommend waiting until you can afford to do so. That being said, there are cams that you can run untuned. Give us some more details on the car and I'll see what we can do to help you out!

Any cam will benefit from a ECM tune, even stock.

I wouldnt do a cam swap unless I had the money for a tune very soon afterwards.

Cam swap will take an average person that is mechanically inclined 2 days or so with someone helping him/her. The actual cam swap is pretty straight forward, its changing the valve springs thats a major PITA and time consuming.

My cam/spring/oil pump/tranny fluid install just took me 20 hours to do by myself including some short breaks, dropping the pickup tube bolt in the oil pan and looking for a retainer for 1 hour To me, the oil pump is the biggest PITA.

If your an A4 get a stall with some Nitto DR's.
Throw on a lid and some LT's with a catback.
That will make a huge sotp difference and as long as the stall's not too big you won't need a tune.
